Goals
The guaranteed fastest way to find your own true innermost goals that will actually make you feel fulfilled.
Today let's talk goals.
But first let’s talk life.
You have a mind
You have a heart
The former is your conscious
The latter is subconscious
The former is your thoughts
The latter is your feelings
Goals that satisfy thoughts but not feelings suck
These are things like money goals, stereotype goals and goals imposed by others.
On the other hand:
Goals that satisfy feelings and thoughts are your own true goals
These are goals that genuinely make you feel good, and where the journey is as much fun as the goal
So what I use to find my goals is i start with the metaphysical
What feelings does my heart want to experience?
For me: freedom, abundance, exploration. newness, comfort
Then also to what degree, you don’t have to answer this exactly but like some feelings will be more strongly desired by your heart than others
For example, one person could desire freedom much more and another person maybe success or accomplishment.
Also, the feeling itself can be more strongly desired, depending on the goal
This is where we turn it into material form.
For example, abundance is a feeling.
But it has degrees to it.
100k of cash could give you a 7/10 feeling of abundance.
But 10M of cahs could give you a 10/10.
Its like a scale, little money is a little abundance but lots of money makes you feel super abundant.
So the heart’s feelings are the main thing and then the degree to which you experience the feeling, or the strength of the feeling determines the size of the goal in a sense.
So first determine the feeling itself, then look at which feelings you want to experience most strongly.
Btw, all of these exercises and questions must be answered from the heart, by feeling - not thinking - otherwise it defeats the purpose.
Don't think what feelings do I want to experience, but feel - what feelings do I feel I want to experience?
If you can't do this easily, get yourself into a feeling state. Listen to some music, go for a run, a walk, take a warm bath.
Anyway
Now that you’ve defined a list of your heart’s most desired feelings and the degree, we can turn it into material equivalent
I recommend just focusing on the feelings for while, and then the right material goals will reveal themselves to you
So for example, your heart wants to experience freedom, abundance, exploration, newness and comfort.
Your heart wants exploration, newness and freedom most.
Now, either with time or if you want to take a guess, right now - what material goal invokes these feelings?
For me, because I used myself as a personal example, I think it could be traveling Europe with my own motorcycle and staying in top airbnb’s and hotels.
The next thing is whether I want to work during this goal, and I think the answer is yes, but the question is - what feelings does work invoke and does the heart desire to experience these feelings?
Once again, the question is not - do you want the goal of working?
The question is - what feelings does your heart want to experience and does working invoke those same feelings?
There is probably work that does, you just have to find it.
But if not, and you just want to experience pure freedom, then a genuine goal could be becoming a monk.
Or if you want to experience accomplishment and abundance, then a genuine goal could be building and/or running a huge business.
So the essence of this principle is, start with the meta-physical, what feelings the heart wants to experience and later turn it into material or physical reality goals by letting reality reveal the goal or taking a guess yourself.
Keep in mind, the goal will never be perfect and it will likely change - this is fine as long as the overall feelings stay the same.
So consistency and perseverance, not so much in the physical goal - like travelling the world, but more so in the meta-physical goal - like experiencing feelings of freedom and exploration.
Try this exercise out for yourself and find your true goals.
I hope this helped you in any way and if it did, please reply to this post
I’d love to hear about your meta-physical or physical goals.
Thanks
